Child protection and Equity at Middlesex Badminton Dome (the Dome)
As an integral part of Middlesex County Badminton Association (MCBA) the Dome Committee is committed to safeguarding the rights of children and
individuals whilst attending the Dome.
The Dome Committee seeks to promote good practice in its administration of the Dome, its coaching and playing practices.
The Dome Committee will not tolerate abuse, in any form, of the individual’s rights as spectator, official, player or coach at the Dome.
The Dome Committee will uphold the principles of Badminton England (BE) and abide by its child protection and equity policies. See: https://www.badmintonengland.co.uk/play/ways-to-play/clubs/safeguarding/safeguarding/
Any member, having cause for concern in either of these areas, should contact the County safeguarding officer by email:
Sheila Collins [email protected] Middx C.B.A County Welfare Officer, or any other member of the MCBA committee.
The Dome Committee is committed to ensuring that equity is incorporated across all aspects of its development. In doing so it acknowledges and adopts the following Sport England definition of sports equity:
Sports equity is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising
inequalities and taking steps to address them. It is about changing the
culture and structure of sport to ensure it becomes equally accessible
to everyone in society.
The Dome Committee respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality, or social/economic status.
The Dome Committee is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment, and abuse.
All members of the Dome have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.
The Dome Committee will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, according to its disciplinary procedures.
